September 9, 2012 AJS Everyone has a worldview, whether we know it or not. Worldview is the way a person makes sense of the world, life and reality. For example: I view the glass as half full, but you might view the glass as half empty. We both see the glass but we do not agree on how to view it. Our worldview is formed by our education, family beliefs, the culture we live in, and media we are exposed to. For many of us our surrounding culture influences our worldview and we have never had to think about why we believe what we believe and we wouldn’t be able to defend our beliefs to others. Within the Christian/Biblical worldview, the question of origin is entirely rooted in God. One is eternal life in Christ Jesus (Heaven) (Revelation 21:1-7) while the other is eternal separation from God (Hell). This is totally dependent on our acceptance of Christ as our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9). I have learned that I am made in the image of God himself and he would not treat someone, speak to others or think about someone in a disrespectful manner. God would do to them what he would want done to him. I need to do the same thing to others as I would want them to do to me. I believe that God has a purpose for everyone and I need to look at the other person as someone God has placed in my path to show His love for them and to tell them about God’s salvation. It is an integration of knowledge, experience, and deep understanding that incorporates tolerance for the uncertainties of life as well as its ups and downs. Beginning with words from the wise; H. Norman Wright states in his book â€Å"How to get Along with Almost Anyone† that; â€Å"The words you use connect you to other people. But how are you connected: by a cord that binds you together or a barrier which keeps you at a distance? † Wright provides us with an example of real life describing the experience at the Department of Motor Vehicles: â€Å"You’ll have to get in the other line. Didn’t you read the instructions? Or You’ll have to come back Monday Morning. When we use the word you as a part of an order or command, we usually end up punching someone’s resistance button†. Asking wisely connects with the words we use. H. Norman Wright states in his book â€Å"How to get Along with Almost Anyone† that; â€Å"Questions are an important part of human interaction. Some people use questions to deepen and enrich their relationships. But many people use questions to pry, maneuver, gain advantage, attack, trap, setup, or break down the defenses of the others. † We need to ask questions open ended as opposed to closed. A good example is â€Å"How do you like the restaurant? † as opposed to â€Å"Isn’t this restaurant awful? † One allows the other person to state their own thoughts and perspective while the other closes the other person out and just shows your own viewpoint. The third component is that we need to be a person of understanding. We need to understand where the other person is coming from and be able to put the attention on them and not just on ourselves. H. Norman Wright states in his book â€Å"How to get Along with Almost Anyone† that; â€Å"The major characteristic of a person of understanding is revealed in Proverbs 14:29: He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is hasty of spirit exposes and exalts his folly†. The Fourth component is that we also need to show a little kindness . We all know what it feels like to be taken for granted. H. Norman Wright states; â€Å"Do you know what it feels to be taken for granted? you continue to give of yourself over a period of time and yet there is no response to, or recognition for, your efforts. Even we should be able to give freely and lovingly without expecting anything in return, most people respond well when their efforts are acknowledged†(Wright, H. N. , 1989) A little kindness can take you a long way in our path to getting along with others. These four components of wisdom are all steps in better ways to get along with others. By better understanding each other, and by possessing wisdom, you will be able to have better relationships with the people around you. The component that I feel is most applicable to me is asking wisely. A lot people have problems with this issue and it makes hard to respond to their words. By giving me your opinion other than asking me a simple question sometimes makes me feels oblige to answer the question the same way you want, thus depriving me from the right to say my honest opinion. Let’s go back to the example provided earlier, if you said: â€Å"Isn’t this restaurant awful? I feel I have no place to state my opinion or tell you exactly how I feel. In summary, understanding that true wisdom is understanding and following the Word of God can take you a long was in getting along with others. It is a two part system; translation and application. It is renowned to serve exotic cuisine having combined Australian, French, American and Asian taste. It started being open to public in 2013. It is open on weekdays providing breakfast and lunch along with wine and beer (Altinay, Paraskevas Jang, 2015). It also caters to the coffee requirements with it special roasted coffee named Naked Blend by Tobys Estate. It provides catering services for corporate occasions, functions and gatherings along with serving its customers with an amicable ambience through its outdoor tables for onsite customers. The privilege of handling the management of the Naked Duck Cafe during industry training was bestowed on me. As a manager human resource management, leadership, quality service along with self-management were to be administered in the organisation. Account of the Incident During my management there was an incident regarding the quality of food. A customer who was at a table in the outside lounge of the bistro was served a chicken dish which had a small plastic chunk stuck inside (Buhalis Crotts, 2013). The customer had consumed half of the chicken piece and then reported it to the waiter who was serving at his table. The customer was agitated at this incident and asked for the management to step into the situation. The management team had to attend to the matter immediately so as to enquire about the matter from the client and the waiter. After enquiry it was concluded that the chefs and the waiter had no fault of their own as there was a probability that the tiny plastic chunk was stuck during the processing and chopping of the poultry by the butcher and meat processing company that provides meat and poultry to the bistro. The client had to be requested to calm down and was offered the same chicken dish which was again freshly prepared for free alon g with a complementary cheese cake. The butcher company that deals with the bistro is one of the best in its category (Gibson, 2016). The butcher company was contacted and reported about the issue. It was further notified to the company to conduct a more efficient quality check. The focus was entirely on the enquiry of the incident. Initial Responses to the Incident As the manager of the bistro, the prime responsibility at that moment was to maintain the aura of the cafe. The client had to be requested to calm down and be served with the best possible dish with special treatment. The waiters and the cooks were also distracted by the incident for a while. Nevertheless, the work had to resume rather fastened so as to cope up with the delay in delivering the services with extra responsibility of going through the raw materials repeatedly before cooking (Leung et al., 2013). The waiters and the cooks along with other staff members of the bistro had to be directed not to get distracted by the incident and were further notified to take extra care while delivering the services. Issues and Dilemmas Highlighted by this Incident The dilemma which was identified as a consequence of this incident in the bistro was that between the quality check department of the bistro and the butcher company. Both claim to have superior quality checking of the raw as well as processed products. Irrespective of the claims both of the organisations had to renew the quality checking procedures (Mok, Sparks Kadampully, 2013). During this incident one ethical issue was detected. Excessive leaves and inability to focus on the job by the employees concerned in the quality check department of the bistro contributed to the negligence in detecting the plastic chunk in the chicken piece. The implication of this incident was that both the organisations had to aggravate the quality guidelines and make staunch efforts towards preservation of the food quality at the best possible level. Learning The management in the Naked Duck Cafe had remarkable effect on the relationship between the employees as well as the customers. People were always excited to be there and enjoy their favourite cuisine and enjoy the ambience. The organisational policies and procedures contributed to better management of the bistro along with boosting the sales both during season and offseason (Medlik, 2012). The theories of Strategic Quality Management, Quality Standards, Strategic Management Models, and 5Ps Model assisted in comprehend certain aspects of this incident. In understanding this incident secondary research proved to be of great assistance. From the legislative aspect the customer could demand for a legal enquiry into this matter. The incident assisted in execution of the organisational policies as the customer complaint was taken seriously and was dealt immediately. Quality and processing of the products has to be regularly investigated with extra efforts so that no incidents regarding the quality of service should crop up in future (Nickson, 2013). This can be achieved by employing more number of employees in the quality check and assurance department along with installation of improved machineries to assist the process. Outcomes As a result of this incident the employees became vigilant while serving the dishes and treated all the customers with more care. The chefs and cooks became observant while preparing the food and the management became heedful to the customers on a much regular basis (Medlik, 2012). This kind of incident can definitely be avoided if the entire workforce becomes vigilant towards providing better cared services. As manager there was a lack of attentiveness in certain departments of the organisation due to which such negligence could occur. However, a good manager has to keep regular information and updates regarding all departments of the organisation which needs practice and practical experience (Mok, Sparks Kadampully, 2013). Conclusion As the manager of the Naked Duck Cafe handling the customer service and the human resource were primary focus of the management. As a manager handling employee performance and providing satisfactory service to the customers was well executed. Life And Christ In 1994 my Pa (Grandfather) died and in 1995 my Dad died and now just last month my other Grandfather died. When my Pa died I lost Faith in God for a day or to because I thought God did it for some bad reason or the other. When my other Grandfather died nothing affected me I guess because I didn't know him that well but it did bring back memories of my father dying and another thing was that when we were at the site of the grave my Grandfather was being buried right next to my Dad and they set up all the Chairs where my Dad's grave was and hid it. It may not seem like a big deal to most people but it had affected me. When my Dad died I lost faith more than any other time because he was so close to me he was sick with cancer and he still made time to play with me. The times I remember most was when he would sit in his recliner chair and watch T.V. and during the commercials we would throw a miniature Nerf football back and forth. Another time would be when it was lighting and thundere d outside in the middle of the night I would wake up immediately to go see my father sitting on the couch and I would go sit next to him because I was scared of thunderstorms. He was scared of thunderstorms too; I didn't know this till after he died, and I always went in there so I wouldn't be scared of the rain. When I found out he was scared of thunderstorms it made me think that we were protecting each other from the same fear. I think that is something that only happed because God was with us both. When he was in the Hospital a thunderstorm had started and he called the nurse in to open the curtains for him so he could watch and during the storm he said he saw an Angel and after that he was no longer afraid of thunderstorms. When I found out he had died I just came back from SeaWorld. After that I had lost Faith in God and stop praying. I let myself think about what had happened and realized that he had so many problems with his body that I was glad God took him into Heaven So h e would have a better life. I asked God to help me with my recent problems by praying to him and one to two years later I met Joe, my stepfather, he has help me to take care of these problems, learn about the Bible, My school problems, and much, much more, he also took over the job my dad had. Introduction: The controversy over water fluoridation in the community arises from moral, ethical, political and security issues related to water fluoridation. As early as 1930 there was an inverse relationship between the fluoride concentration in drinking water and the presence of caries. The use of public water for transporting drugs such as fluorination violates medical ethics. Ethical issues related to water fluoridation include the balance of risks and benefits, the presence of other interventions with the same consequences, and the role of consent. For more than a decade, bioethics and health care professionals have struggled to determine the exact meaning of being medically ineffective. The word waste comes from the Latin futilis. In other words, it is easy to melt. It is a common usage developed from the Greek legend that the daughter of King Arnaus of Argos killed her husband and as a punishment they were forced to gather water permanently in a bucket that leaked water. To reach the empty bucket destination, when the goal is water, provide useless definitions as less or invalid. With the rapid development of medical technology, the work of medical staff is to investigate the resulting ethical dilemma. This is where bioethics works. By applying ethical principles to the medical field, bioethics aims to research and study ways to make decisions on health management. It is a core element to ensure that medical practices and procedures will benefit society as a whole. I explained that the term bioethics was originally introduced in 1971 to refer to a combination of biology, biological science and human knowledge. However, its uses such as clinical decisions, controversial new research, the impact of new technologies, global concerns, public policy, etc. are more widespread today. For how could I reveal my selfish motivations behind the brush? True, my talent exceeds those I was educated with, but it hasn’t brought me the burgher status I so deserve (Westermann, 2004, 89). However, the portraits I have been working on lately are being commissioned by more prominent citizens than before (Westermann, 2004, 156) and this certainly reflects kindly upon my public image (Cole, 1983, 27-28). In the end, I only explained to my friend that portraiture interested me as a way to record the likeness and expression of those who hired me to do so (Smith, 2004, 85) and that sketching over 85 self-portraits (Westermann,2004, 4) is merely practice. But truth be told, I am tired of this middle-class morality! I have finished a great tribute to Raphael and Titian! After long studying their compositions I have created Self-Portrait (1640) as way of expressing the desire to emulate my Italian predecessors (Westermann, 2004, 12). It has the muted tonality and modest costume arrangement that is found in Raphael’s work. Also, I have copied the introspective gaze, the luscious folds of fabric and a gentle turn of head, all in alignment with the great Titian (Westermann, 2004, 152). I applied small touches of red to the cheeks and nose to produce a sense of life beneath the off white skin. Highlights of white on the cheekbone, nose and forehead give strength to the three dimensionality of the face. I have portrayed myself with a quiet expression and a simple pose in order to emphasize my facial features. My aim is Cartesian in nature—to produce a direct relationship between the viewer and the portrait (Woods, 2007, 73). My self-portraits have begun to truly represent the outer manifestation of my growing self-awareness

This is where you assess the final outcome of the lesson and to what extent the learning objectives were achieved. This is also your chance to adjust the overall lesson plan to overcome any unexpected challenges that may have arisen, preparing you for the next time you teach this lesson. Its also important to make note of the most successful aspects of your lesson plan, to ensure that you continue to capitalize on strengths and continue to push forward in those areas.   How to Assess Learning Goals Learning goals can be assessed in a variety of ways, including through quizzes, tests, independently performed worksheets, cooperative learning activities, hands-on experiments, oral discussion, question-and-answer sessions, writing assignments, presentations, or other concrete means. However, its important to remember that you may have students who better display their mastery of a topic or skill through non-traditional assessment methods, so try to think about creative ways you can assist those students in demonstrating mastery. Most importantly, teachers need to ensure that the Assessment activity is directly and explicitly tied to the stated learning objectives  you developed in step one of the lesson plan. In the learning objective section, you specified what students would accomplish and how well they would have to be able to perform a task in order to consider the lesson satisfactorily accomplished. The goals also had to fit within your district or state educational standards for the grade level. Follow-Up: Using the Results of the Assessment Once the students have completed the given assessment activity, you must take some time to reflect on the results. If the learning objectives were not adequately achieved, you will need to revisit the lesson in a different manner, revising the approach to learning. Either you will need to teach the lesson again or youll need to clear up areas that confused several of the students. Whether or not most students showed understanding of the material, based on the assessment, you should note how well students learned different parts of the lesson. This will allow you to modify the lesson plan in the future, clarifying or spending more time on areas where the assessments showed the students were weakest. Student performance on one lesson tends to inform performance on future lessons, giving you insight into where you should take your students next. If the assessment showed the students fully grasped the topic, you may want to proceed immediately to more advanced lessons. Architecture of the Parthenon The era that one lives in is very advanced technologically and economically, yet nothing can surpass the creations that the Greeks built. When one thinks about ancient times we visualize uncivilized people who could never accomplish such great things as we have done when in reality it is us that could never accomplish what they did. There are many accomplishments that are associated with Classical Greece, one of the major ones is the Parthenon. What this building has showed us is that the Greeks were way ahead of their time period. In order to make such a temple, the architects must have ways to calculate very precise numbers and have machinery to place the columns on the building. Not only did this type of architecture require extreme precision, it also required of a great sum of money. This cost didnt only cover the Parthenon building, it also covered the price for the Athena Parthenos. According to Cartwright, the Parthenon was made beautifully on the outside but the meaningful part of it was the giant statue of Athena inside it. The Athena Parthenos was a huge statue that measured around 11.5 meters tall and was made out of gold and other expensive materials. The statue was worth more that the Parthenon itself. When one looks at the Parthenon one sees straight lines and columns, but the truth is that there is almost no straight lines in the Parthenon. The straight lines that we see are merely an optical illusion made by the architects that designed the Parthenon. The columns that we see on the building seem to be straight, but in reality if one is to look at the column going from the bottom to the top we would be able to see that the column starts off being narrow and as it reaches the center it grows wider, once it is headed to the top it narrows down again. This same rule applies to all of the columns placed. This type of precision would be difficult for this time period to achieve even with all the new technology, imagine how the Greeks must have struggled to build such a thing without having little to none of the technology we had. By having made such an amazing piece of architecture, including many more, it was logical for the Greeks to fell as if they were above every other civilization. They were proud of their culture and of their historical ideas. These types of achievements were what made them believe that their achievements would set the stage for generations to come. As the Greeks presumed, their architectural ideas did set the stage for centuries including our times. The Parthenon is a remarkable piece of architecture that is irreplaceable, not only because of the cost but also due to the fact that even if people now were to remake one, it wouldnt have the same impact as it would have centuries ago. The reason for this is that the Greeks had nothing to base themselves off of I order to create such a masterpiece, meanwhile we have their ideas to create our own and access to modern technology. They met while going through school playing sports, mainly basketball. Both were pretty good at the sport and won some awards and had chances to play more but decided to get married and start a family instead. Both grew up around the whole farming scene. My mom actually lived on a farm growing up and also as she started her own family.My dad lived in the small town but his grandpa had a farm not far from where he grew up and also helped a lot of the local farms in the area. So they grew up being hard workers through sports and also with the manual work that comes with the farming life. In their early years of marriage they moved to my hometown of Williston, ND, not far from where they grew up. A town with the popul ation at the time around 12 thousand. They got married in 1982 two years after they graduated high school and had their first kid which was a boy and my oldest brother and named him Nevin.Not but two years later they had their second child also a boy and named him Tyler. Then finally they had their third son, me. In the first four years of my life we lived in the town of Williston. But then my parents decided to move to the country because my dad was a farmer and rancher. We moved about 5 miles east of Williston. For me and my brothers we liked it a lot better because we could do a lot of things on the farm like play baseball, hunt, fish, build forts in the trees.Growing up in the childhood I had my brothers and me spent a lot of time together because we didn’t have our friends to come out and play. Which I think is a lot similar to the way my parents were raised with their brothers and sisters. Then when I was getting ready for kindergarten our family moved even more in the country. We were now about 30 miles northeast of town. I remember having to wake up really early for school all the time. My dad would wake us up at six in the morning and we would drive all the way to town for school at eight.My brothers and I did not want to attend country school because when we lived in town those first couple of years we had made some friends and our parents wanted us to have a healthy social life. I think also they wanted us to participate in sports more, which we did. Growing up it seemed that every night we had to stay in town until at least 8 because one of us had a sport practice or game going on. So I think that the competitiveness in sports that my parents faced growing up they wanted my brothers and I to experience that.My brothers and I loved to play sports, a lot of the time when we were not helping my dad we would be playing some sort of competitive sport which usually ended in a fight. Once we moved farther into the country my brothers and me became older and more capable of helping my dad on the farm with chores. So it was in these early years where were learn a work ethic. With having all the cows we did my dad did need help. For me being the youngest I didn’t have to help as much as my brothers. I spent more time helping my mom around the house with things she needed help with.But my dad always made sure I got my hands dirty in the corrals, which I can see helped me with just being able to do manual labor with no problems, and also made me a very observant learner from watching my dad do things on the farm. Also being on the farm you are always in situations where you just have to figure it out for yourself because my dad or brother are busy doing other things. By the time I reached 5th grade my parents decided to move to town because my brothers were getting more involved with sports as so was I.For me I loved the idea of moving to town because I was still this youngster who gets to hang out with his friends more. No w I could ride bike to my friend’s house and be there in 10 minutes, so as a young kid was pretty excited. But even though we moved to town me and my brothers went to the farm and helped my dad a lot whenever we were not playing some sort of sport. I would say for me my middle-aged years were spent more on sports so I develop a lot of relationships with friends. At this time in my life during the summer all I did was play baseball. My friends and I would meet at this field close to ll our houses and play sandlot everyday no matter what the weather was. If we weren’t playing baseball at the field we were at someone’s house playing some sort of baseball related game. Looking back I realize now that from moving to town and not spending as much time at the farm I sort of developed a city life mentality. I started hating going to the farm because I wanted to hangout with my friends and was afraid I was missing out on something. As I got into high school my parents re ally pushed on my sports and always trying to get better which for me didn’t bother me at all.They realized that I was very skilled in my baseball and wanted me to take that very serious, which I did for the most part. But I started wanting that independence from my parents once I got my license at 14. I had my pickup and could go drive around with my buddies I thought I was a stud. I started not spending as much time at home, so from that my parents wanted to know more about what was going on in my life I felt like. So me being a dumb teenage started getting into a lot more arguments and things like that with them.Also my dad wanted me to go out and help him at the farm more because my brothers were busy with college and sports of their own. I didn’t like that at all and would get really mad every time I had to go out there and help. Junior year I started drinking once and a while and I ended up getting caught so my parents got a lot stricter with me. So that made my relationship with my parents even worse. At this point in high school baseball was a good way for me and my parents to communicate but anything else it seemed impossible for them to realize my side.I ended going to Iowa to play baseball for college and our relationship got better. I think because I just had to get out of the house and away to learn things on my own to better understand what they were doing. But one thing that I got from my parents was to always work hard. They always said before every game â€Å"work hard†, so that’s what I did and it seem to get me far in baseball because after Iowa I ended up going Division 1 in baseball but due to a bad arm injury I had to have surgery and things didn’t turn out at North Dakota State University (NDSU).After NDSU I went back home and started working on the oilrigs. It was actually what I consider my first job, because my dad never made me get a job in high school because all I had to do was help him on the far m. Working on the rigs taught me a lot about life and what my parents tried to pound in my head all those years in high school. So now days my parents and I are good and get along a lot better because I am more able to understand where they are coming from. After about 10 months of working in the oil field I decided to go play baseball again and that is what brings me to Friends University.Now days as I look back at the upbringing of my brothers and me and relate it to my parents up bringing I see a lot of similarities. They were brought up in that hard working environment, dawn to dusk kind of lifestyle and they really pushed that on the three of us. I can see that my brothers have more of a better work ethic than me but it is a working progress. I may have been more successful at sports but then are harder workers than me. Also I noticed that growing up my parents didn’t really have someone to come talk to about problems so they had to find a way to deal with their problems .So growing up for the three of us we didn’t address our problems very often with our parents with just found a way to get over it and move on which has helped me a lot but there are some things that I have trouble dealing with but I can cope really well because of that. Another thing my parents really pushed upon my brothers and me was be respectful and responsibility, and I know because they expressed that so much it has helped me in life and also with sports as well. Family also was important, even though they never really verbally expressed it we always had to go to family events no matter how big or small the event was.So as I grew up I just kind of knew that if there was a family event I better go or else my parents would get mad. Now I may have not wanted to go but whenever I left I was glad I did just because I got to see a lot of good people and it usually is a good laugh. I think my parents made us because they had alot of relatives growing up and spent a lot of tim e around them growing up. So I guess I have learned a lot in the last year about life and my family and I am excited to learn more in the future.
